RUSSIAN BOGATYRS IS THE ONLY PROTAGONIST IN THE QUANTUM DAY OF THE MELGES 20 WORLD LEAGUE IN SCARLINO

Marina di Scarlino (Grosseto), 15th June 2019 - No matter if we’re talking about warm up races (like the ones from the Garmin Cup of yesterday) or about heavy points for the overall seasonal ranking: the approach to the challenge by Russian Bogatyrs does not change. The Russian crew is, to date, undoubtedly the strongest crew of the Class, from the top of his leadership in the world ranking.
 
The three races of today, valid as Quantum Day, were all won by the Russian team of Igor Rytov, that with this performance enters the golden books of the Melges 20 Class: the race course of Club Nautico Scarlino challenged the fleet with Mistral wind ranging from 13 to 18 knots. 
 
The story of this day and this act of the Melges World League, that by now has only seen one protagonist, could end here even if the victory, although heavily secured by Russian Bogatyrs, is still to be conquered: the game is in fact held open by an extraordinary Siderval. 
 
The Italian and full Corinthian team of Marco Giannini, second in the overall standings with excellent partial results (3-2-4) is 6 points behind the provisional leader of the Tuscan event. Siderval in turn precedes, by a single point, the Argentinian Boogie of Pierluigi Giannattasio that, after having conquered the last stage Melges World League in Puntaldia, confirms its own competitive maturity proving to belong with full right to the elite of the Melges Class 20.
 
The top five, at the end of today's Quantum Day, is completed by another Italian team, Pietro Loro Piana's Gone Squatching in fourth place (15 points from the leaders) and Vladimir Prosikhin's Nika, two points behind Loro Piana.
 
Tomorrow the challenge in Marina di Scarlino will continue, to designate the name of the winner of a stage that, for now, is all and only in the sign of Russian Bogatyrs.
