MELGES WORLD LEAGUE - ADRIATIC SEA GRAN PRIX

GONE SQUATCHING (MELGES 20) AND HOMANIT (MELGES 32) AT THE COMMAND OF THE ADRIATIC GRAND PRIX IN PORTO SAN GIORGIO

Porto San Giorgio (Fermo), 6 May 2022 - Second day of racing for the Melges World League - Adriatic Grand Prix underway on the Porto San Giorgio regatta course.

The Melges 20 fleet made its debut today with the dispute of three races that saw a partially different script compared to what emerged in the previous event in Marina di Scarlino. The number one in the ranking, Dario Levi's Fremito d’Arja, starts in the worst way (in the test won by Pietro Loro Piana's Gone Squatching) with a ninth place that immediately complicates the confirmation plans of the current leader of the Melges World League. Fremito d'Arja (with Stefano Cherin on tactics), however, responds as a champion by ringing two first places in the next two races of the day, taking second place in the general classification behind (three points) the Loro Piana team (with Francesco Ivaldi calling tactics). In third and fourth place in the general classification, on equal points (11) with Fremito d’Arja the Monegasque Nika of Vladimir Prosikhin and B.Lex of Benedetta Iovane.

In the Melges 32 the great protagonist of the day is the German Corinthian team of Homanit led by Jan Jasper Wagner who collects three second places as partials, just enough to put the arrow and overtake the leader of the first day, the Hungarian Farfallina of Arpad Schatz (6, 6,7) who, in today's wave, does not find the same pace as yesterday in which he had conquered 3 bullets. In the race for the podium on the eve of the last day of racing for the Melges 32 the name of two other Corinthian teams, the German one of Heat by Max Augustin (pt. 15) and the Italian team of Piuma di Andrea Musone (pt. 16) ). For the Melges 20, on the other hand, they will race until Sunday.
