Cala Galera, 20 June 2021 - The curtain falls on the Argentario Rally, the second event of the international Melges World League circuit, which over the weekend attracted over forty crews representing eleven nations to the race course of Cala Galera.

A complete series of eight races made it possible to determine yesterday, as scheduled, the winner in the Melges 32 fleet, responding to the name of Tavatuy.

With light wind conditions, the Melges 20 and Melges 14 fleets also managed to complete series of eight and six races respectively, the maximum foreseen by the notice of race, thanks to the excellent organization in the water coordinated by PROs Maria Torrijo and Gabriella Gabrielli, supported by Melges Europe, Circolo Nautico e della Vela Argentario and Marina di Cala Galera.

The battle was open until the last in the Melges 20 fleet, where Filippo Pacinotti's Brontolo established himself as leader. The crew of the reigning world champions, at their seasonal debut in the Melges World League, made consistency their strong point on the last day of racing and, with partial results of 4-2-1, managed to leave behind Fremito d'Arja by Dario Levi, who wins the silver medal on equal points with the winners but with worse partial results. Bronze medal for an extremely consistent Matteo Marenghi Vaselli with Raya. Rounding out the top five are the Russian crews of Russian Bogatyrs and Hubex.

In the Corinthian fleet, reserved for non-professionals, the victory goes to Neodent of Marco Giannini, eighth overall, followed by B.Lex of Benedetta Iovane and Mojito of the very young helmsman Elena Rixner.

Among the Melges 14, the leader responded from the first day to the name of Davide Di Maio who, despite a very homogeneous level of the fleet and open and competitive races, managed to maintain control of the ranking also in the second day, putting the seal to the second fraction of the Melges 14 World League 2021.
