MARINA DI SCARLINO IS READY TO HOST THE MELGES 20 WORLD LEAGUE AND THE MELGES 14 FLEET JOINS THE CIRCUIT

Marina di Scarlino (Grosseto), 13th June 2019 - The race course of Marina di Scarlino (already home to the 2016 World Championship) returns to welcome the Melges World League after the first two events of the season, both held in Sardinia.

The protagonist of the Tuscan weekend will be the Melges 20 fleet that, for the first time in Europe, will be joined by the Melges 14 Class.

In the Melges 20 World League, the dominant theme of this stage will be the duel for the victory between the new generation of aspiring champions and the group of veterans and already record men of the Class.
The former group has as its leader Boogie by the Argentinian Pierluigi Giannattasio (who in the latest event in Puntaldia took his first success ever in the Melges 20 fleet) while the second counts on a leader that responds to the name of Russian Bogatyrs of Igor Rytov (winner of the first European stage 2019 in Villasimius and number 1 in the world ranking), Brontolo (holder of the title of the European series) and Mascalzone Latino Jr by Achille Onorato (with a team that needs no introduction) just to name a few.

The Melges 14 World League debuted this year with great success in the United States where the Melges 14 has become, in a very short time, another best seller of the shipyard based in Zenda - Wisconsin.
After the United States, it is now time for the Melges 14 to arrive in Europe where the Melges World League, which already involves the Melges 32 and Melges 20 classes, opens its doors to the Melges 14 sailors.
The Melges 14 is a boat dedicated to those who love the more sporting sailing drift but do not want to give up the style, quality and performance of Melges Performance Sailboats. All offered to the Melges 14 sailors with the same hospitality format and organization of the renowned Melges World League, the reference point for one-design sailing in the worldwide scenario.

The regatta program includes the opening day of Friday signed by Garmin, followed by Saturday's Quantum Sails Day and North Sails’ Day for Sunday's final.
